The 1 x 70W HIT downlight with tempered
safety glass utilises the WILA MS-3 bayonet function and UV
filter glass to provide an ideal solution for entrance areas
where insects often ruin the aesthetic of a lighting design by
becoming trapped within the lighting component, which can be
unattractive to the viewer.
The external ring-shaped, white
imprinted, cover plate of safety glass of the latest E26 is
tightly connected to the lower section of the reflector and
the UV filter glass, which lies above it. Although the lamp
can be accessed from the bottom through the MS-3 bayonet
function, for servicing purposes, it is impossible for insects
to get in and disrupt the aesthetics of the design, which is
particularly important in communication and ‘impression’
areas. In addition the luminaire is light-proof above, which
is an important aspect when used for open canopy structures.
400 of the new luminaires were installed in the outside entrances and internal
reception areas of the new Terminal 1 of Hamburg Airport, Germany to fulfil the
requirements of Peter Andres’ light planning office, and their goal to “…make
sure that people feel good through the light”.
