WILA believes
its forward-thinking approach really differentiates it from
its competitors and will demonstrate that the WILA Team are of
the highest professional standard. The objective of the
Programme is to ensure the company has an ample resource of
people with experience and exemplary skills to achieve
business objectives whilst providing a measurement of business
competency to their clients which will ultimately contribute
to greater business performance.
WILA has
always recognised the link between individual performance and
the overall performance and success of the company and has
long been acknowledged as an 'Investor in People' company,
retaining the accreditation since 1997. WILA Commits 3%
of its turnover to the Programme, at a cost of up to £17,500
per person, to ensure employees succeed in providing
intelligent advice, service and lighting solutions.
Its approach
focuses on championing its employees through a modular
programme that begins from day one with a comprehensive
induction. From there a wide range of learning is
available, from an in-house programme, based at WILA's Lighting
Competence Centre's in Wantage and Iserlohn, Germany.
This incorporates extensive product and industry training and
concludes with a WILA IQ Level of Knowledge Review.
External
trainers provide development across diverse subject areas such
as sales, management and accounts to industry lighting
qualifications including LIF courses and MSc in Light &
Lighting with WILA covering subscriptions, examination fees
etc. WILA Actively encourages employees through their
own personal PDP providing opportunities for career
advancement and financial gain.
A 'Credits
Programme' runs in conjunction whereby credits are received
upon the completion of training and the individual's level of
success. As with all continuing professional development
programmes WILA's employees must maintain a minimum number of
credits per annum keeping knowledge and skills current within
the lighting industry and their own professional role.
Peter Le
Manquais, Managing Director, states: "We have brought training
and development to the top of our corporate agenda.

within our sector competence is a necessity when developing
demanding lighting projects. We are determined to demonstrate
